Shipping Chocolate
Winter
Cold weather across the country keeps chocolate stable in transit, so from winter through spring (November 1 through April 30), we ship Monday through Friday.
Summer
When it's warm (May 1st through Oct 31st), we ship chocolate only Monday through Wednesday. We skip Thursday and Friday so your order never sits in a facility over the weekend. Orders placed on Wednesday must be in by 2 pm PT, and on every other shipping day the cutoff is 11:00 am PT.
Every summer chocolate orders ship with ice packs at no extra charge, along with handling instructions inside the package. Heat can still soften chocolate, and we can't promise a bar will arrive perfectly solid. A melted bar isn't a ruined one, though. Lay it flat in the refrigerator, and it will firm up again.
No P.O. Boxes
Chocolate can't be delivered to a P.O. Box, and here's why. P.O. Boxes belong to USPS, so only USPS can deliver to them, and FedEx can't access them. Because all chocolate ships through FedEx, an order addressed to a P.O. Box will be declined instead of delayed. Please use a street address.
White film on your chocolate
If you spot a white haze on the surface, that's chocolate bloom. Temperature swings cause it; it's purely cosmetic, and the bar is still fine to enjoy.
