Mushroom Chocolate Bars: How to Pick One in 2026

Mushroom chocolate bars all look similar on a shelf. A wrapper, a bar, a brand name you have probably not heard of. The differences that actually matter are not obvious from the packaging, and most stores will not tell you what they are.

We carry fourteen bars across four brands. This guide covers what separates them, which decisions are worth caring about, and which ones are noise.

The Four Decisions That Matter

1. Size

This is the biggest difference between bars and the one most people miss. Bars in this category range from 5g up to 24g, and that is not a small spread.

A 5g bar and a 24g bar are not the same product in different quantities. They are different products. If you are new to this, a smaller bar is the right choice, and larger sizes are for people who already know what they want.

2. Chocolate base

Milk, dark, or white. This drives flavor more than anything else on the bar.

Milk chocolate is the middle ground and the most familiar. Dark is the least sweet and the pick if you reach for dark chocolate everywhere else. White chocolate is the sweetest and shows up mostly in dessert-style flavors like cookies and cream or shortcake.

3. Texture

Some bars are smooth all the way through. Others have crisped rice, cookie pieces, or wafer layered in.

This matters more than it sounds. Solid chocolate can coat the mouth, and texture breaks that up. If you have found chocolate bars heavy before, a crunch bar is likely the fix.

4. How it is scored

Every bar is divided into squares or tiles, but the number of squares or tiles varies. Road Trip bars are scored into eight squares. Day Tripper's Milk Chocolate is ten. Rize's 12g bar is ten tiles, and the 24g Rize X is twenty-four.

More pieces means finer control over how much you break off. Fewer means bigger pieces. Neither is better, but it is worth knowing before you open the wrapper.

The Four Brands We Carry

Rize

The widest range on our shelf. Three sizes: 5g, 12g, and the 24g Rize X, across flavors including Dark Crunch, Cookies and Cream, Shortcake Dream, Milk Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Matcha.

Rize is also the brand that makes the most of its ingredient story. Organic cocoa butter, organic milk powder, and organic cane sugar in the base, with lion's mane listed separately on the panel rather than buried in a blend.

Pick Rize if: you want size options, the widest flavor selection, or an organic base.

Road Trip

Four bars in the Desert Stardust line, each scored into eight squares: Cookies and Cream, Milk Chocolate, Strawberry Crunch, and Dark Chocolate Orange.

Road Trip is the only brand on our shelf with a dark chocolate orange, and it is the one to reach for if citrus and darker chocolate are your thing.

Pick Road Trip if: you want dark chocolate, or a fruit-and-chocolate combination rather than a dessert flavor.

Day Tripper

Three bars and nothing complicated: Milk Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, and Crunch. No dark option and no unusual bases.

Pick Day Tripper if: you want milk chocolate and you would rather not think about it further.

Goomz

The texture brand. Wafers, Short Bread, and Chocolate Butternut, all built around something layered into the chocolate rather than a flavor added to it.

Pick Goomz if: texture is what you actually care about, or the standard flavors have gotten boring.

Where the Brands Overlap

Cookies and cream appears across three of the four brands, which makes it the easiest way to compare them directly. Same flavor concept, different execution, and you can tell a lot about a manufacturer from how they handle a familiar one.

Milk chocolate is the other common ground, available from Rize, Road Trip, and Day Tripper.

If you want something no one else makes, that is Dark Chocolate Orange from Road Trip, Matcha from Rize, or any of the Goomz textures.

What to Look For Before You Buy

A published Certificate of Analysis. Every bar we sell links its lab results on the product page. A brand that will not publish testing is the single biggest thing to walk away from in this category.

A readable ingredient list. You should be able to see what is in the chocolate, not just a blend name.

A clear statement about what is not in it. Good brands say plainly whether a product contains psilocybin, THC, or amanita rather than leaving it ambiguous.

Age gating. Anything in this category should be sold to adults 21 and over.

How Mushroom Chocolate Ships

Chocolate is the one thing on our site with its own shipping rules, and they exist because chocolate melts.

Chocolate orders ship FedEx Express only, Monday through Thursday, with a cold pack when it is warm out. USPS is not offered at checkout on any order containing chocolate, even when chocolate is one of several items, and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box. Orders placed before 11:00 am PT ship the same business day.

We ship to all 50 states, so if you are searching for mushroom chocolate near you and coming up empty, ordering online is usually the more reliable route than hunting for a local shop.

Storing a Chocolate Bar

Cool, dry, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep it sealed between uses. Break squares at room temperature, since a warm bar bends instead of snapping and a refrigerated one shatters unevenly.

If a white film appears on the surface, that is chocolate bloom. It is cosmetic and the bar is still fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes do mushroom chocolate bars come in?

Ours range from 5g up to 24g. A 5g bar and a 24g bar are meaningfully different products, not the same thing in different quantities.

What is the difference between the brands?

Rize has the widest range of sizes and flavors, plus an organic base. Road Trip is the only one with a dark chocolate orange. Day Tripper keeps it to three straightforward milk-and-white chocolate bars. Goomz builds everything around texture.

Which brand should I start with?

If you want simple, Day Tripper. If you want options, Rize. If you want dark chocolate, Road Trip. If you want something textured, Goomz.

How are the bars divided?

Into scored squares or tiles. Road Trip bars are eight squares, Day Tripper's Milk Chocolate is ten, Rize's 12g bar is ten tiles, and the 24g Rize X is twenty-four.

Do mushroom chocolate bars contain psilocybin?

The bars we carry state their contents on the packaging and publish third-party lab results on each product page. Check the Certificate of Analysis linked on any product you are considering.

How long do the effects last?

Every product carries usage guidance on its packaging, and that is the source to follow rather than anything you read online.

How does mushroom chocolate ship?

FedEx Express only, Monday through Thursday, with a cold pack when it is warm out. Chocolate orders cannot go to a PO Box. Orders before 11:00 am PT ship the same business day.

Will my chocolate melt in transit?

Chocolate orders are packed with a cold pack during warmer months and shipped via express service to limit time in transit. Bring your package inside promptly once it arrives.

Can I buy chocolate bars with mushrooms online?

Yes. We ship to all 50 states.

Do I need to be 21 to order?

Yes. Sold to adults 21 and over only.

The Bottom Line

Size first, then base, then texture. Those three decisions get you to the right bar faster than reading every product page. Once you know you want a 12g milk chocolate with crunch, there are only a couple of options and the choice makes itself.
